YOUR WARDROBE AND BODY LANGUAGEby Guest Writer Lena MilukhA first impression is very important. When you meet with somebody for the first time it's almost vital to look to your best. People judge by what they see… and that's your clothes, how they match with your accessories and hairstyle, your posture and your gestures.A lot of people mistakenly think if they wear the latest catwalk's outfit, they’ve done it all. That's an absolute nonsense. Fashion has a tendency to be outdated very quickly, and often, such a must-have in one season would be an absolute nothing the next. So does it really make sense to run after the latest novelties? Or is it wiser to just create your own style, which underlines all the best in your self and makes you feel comfortable and confident? Have your wardrobe planned correctly and it can serve you for years. Just a little research won’t take a lot of time, and can be even fun. And this research is so vital nowadays. Our modern life creates such competition, that we must watch how we look, move, and even what we eat if we want be really impressive. If you want to go through the day as a winner, you need to give it good thought in advance... When you're getting dressed first thing in the morning, the trick is not to pull out just any old garments and pile them on without thinking about it, but to visualize the whole outfit before you start - think about the end product. I often work out my outfit the night before, thinking which tops would go with which trousers or skirts. Now, of course you may not have enough time or passion to plan what to wear or you just don't trust yourself in such things. However, there so many wardrobe planning experts who love and actually enjoy doing just that. They would thoroughly look at your preferences and needs and would do all the legwork for you. Eventually you would get better at it yourself, and might even end up enjoying playing with your clothes. The other aspect mentioned above in creating a positive impression is your body language. How you move, how you stand, your legs and arms, and even your eyes tell everything about you in a nonverbal way. But body language can be easy to master. Here are just a few tips on how to make people like you at first sight: Smile whenever you have a chance, always make eye contact with people you talk, try not to cross your legs and arms during conversation and just try to stay positive. It won't be long before you notice good changes. Lena Milukh www.milukh.com Go back to the Home Page |
